Update to Trump Era Newcomers

Until I understand this EU Cookie law better I will leave Google's complimentary notice that this blog uses Blogger and Google cookies. These include Google Analytics and AdSense cookies. Also, I feel that I should warn that this blog was started in the style of and in response to the toxic commentary of Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh. I don't mince words and the people who cannot see common sense in my words or are deliberately uninformed may not like the way I express myself. I moderate comments because I have had stalkers that posted filth in response to my religion. I'm not afraid to post conflicting opinion comments but I filter threats and inappropriate language comments. This comes in response to the Trump Era. May it be shorter than 4 years. =)

Should I speak slowly? Smaller words??

Let's go over the rules of MY blog once more:
Warning:
This blog is blunt, harsh, and MY opinion. If you are easily offended, go away. (snipped for irrelevancy)
You HAVE been warned. No whining or tattling.

Okay, so this means that this is MY blog. I can say whatever I want here. If you choose to visit it (which obviously you do, Sybil, A LOT) then you are going to get to read my opinions. As moderator I had to be all fair and pacifying. I was mediating. Do I lurk there?? Ummm yeah, DUH! I have spent years babysitting that site.I OWN 6490 posts that I am sharing elsewhere now. I was trying to allow decent people the right to be heard. Defending them from YOU. You may possibly be the most disturbing individual I've ever encountered. Aside from the freakishness of calling me MOMMY all the time, you obviously are checking into Briarland rather often and Briarland is a dictatorship, I don't have to toady up to anyone here. I can also flat out say that you should have been banned from BethShort.com a very long time ago. I am not a member there anymore and I'm proud of that, actually. I was tired of watching you abuse people who are actually doing something productive. People who not only have more respect for Elizabeth Short and their fellow human beings than you can possibly comprehend. Membership is fading there?? Is it because I left OR perhaps because you are the only one left rattling around IN HIDING, I've noticed. I'm a chickenshit?? No, Sybil, you are. I was able to catch YOUR response to Motley before I left this morning saying you prey on the weak. Wow you are sooo brave. That thread is gone now. I assume it's because finally you had to take on someone your own size and was losing. Correcting his grammer, ouch, that will teach him! YOU are the biggest cancer that has ever hit that site or any other I've ever been on. You are a loathsome human being. For the life of me I'll never understand why Pamela has allowed you and your constant bitching run off good members who actually post ideas, only to be torn apart by you and often other little bitchy "men". Notice the number of guests? Those are people who want to help, but find the board to be mean and disrespectful. My posting on MY blog isn't hiding, this is public. The link is on my profile for the world to see. YOU are making sure that your newest drama is documented on BethShort.com. Not me, YOU. Get a life OLD MAN, if I WAS your mommy I might have for the first and only time in my entire existence wished I'd had an abortion. The world would be a better place without you in it. But I am guessing that your online personalities are far different that the little man sitting in front of that computer screen.

Oh and one more thing. Google accounts are not hard to sign up for. Mr. Spellcheck should have no problems at all. Quit disrespecting the messageboard and bring your whining and sniveling right straight to me. You don't scare me. You never have. And I am not whining about my self-imposed exile, YOU are. You were whining that no one posts now that I am gone. I don't lurk, I'm a guest now and I check in often. YOU are one of two that choose to stay hidden. That was never really my style.

On the other hand...

I see Mr. Sybil is finally getting the butt whooping he's deserved for so very long. Funny who recognizes trash on the site and who does.
**Pops popcorn**

Oh and Motley was right, traffic has never been better.

Wow! Fall out!!

It's news that I am vengeful??? Everyone and their neighbor thinks they are the subject of my vendetta.
Let's fix a few things:
1. I TOLD you all that this blog is for me to express my opinions so if you dislike them don't read them. Oh and we aren't 5, stop tattling to my mom. Seriously, grow up!
2. Uhhh, my candidate won. Suck it up and stop the damn whining. It's a well known fact that it takes a Democrat to clean up after Repugs. I realize he's not the candidate that everyone vote most preferred to have a beer with, but he's actually intelligent. I realize that's a novelty in government often times.
3. I can talk to Jehovah Witnesses if I want to. It IS America, and I can talk to whoever I want to. Don't irritate me or I'll start inviting them to functions with me.
4. My resignation from BethShort.com is not something I have spoken of here. I have gotten close to many of the members and count them as friends. I had announced my intention to step down as moderator about a month ago, although I intended to keep my membership. It's frustrating and makes me cranky. I cut all ties and have moved on. I do check in, partly to gather some of my posts to share elsewhere. Before I left, this was said in regards to me:
PARANOIA RUNS DEEP -- INTO YOUR LIFE IT WILL CREEP ....

Ironic statement from someone who is obviously following my blog. Hypocritical much?? It's even been proposed that I have some supernatural power that made the number of posts drop dramatically. That is called politeness. None of that matters, except for the fact that if I'd wanted revenge, I'd have silently waited as Moderator and deleted every thread on the board in the middle of the night. That site is about Beth Short, not me. I care about the case and the friends I made there. Why else would I dedicate so much time and effort as an unpaid, unappreciated, babysitter? Yeah, no sorry. That isn't the vendetta I am speaking of. What I DIDN'T like was the threat of exposing my full name, phone number, and city that I live in. No, it won't bring me back, because for myself, I don't care. But my well known protection of my children is another matter completely and that puts THEM at risk. I VERY VERY STRONGLY recommend you don't go there. Hell hath no fury like anyone who threatens my children.

I think the person who ACTUALLY crossed me, well knows who they are. You haven't gone whining about me nor have you told my mommy. Just don't go there ever again.

Vengeance ...

I will full out admit that I am vengeful beyotch. I have a hair trigger temper, and sometimes I pop off immediately, but I long ago learned la vengeance est un plat qui se mange froid. Revenge is a dish best served cold. If I can keep from instant retaliation, I have patience for revenge that is diabolical. Actually, I even frighten myself sometimes. I don't know when I discovered this, but I remember some of my best (or worst) moments happened when I worked at Burger King. Seriously, who reduces a girl to tears over something out of her control, tries to get her fired, swears they'll never be back and then comes back?? I mean, what total idiot looks at that same girl handing him his food, with a smile on her face, and a sincere "enjoy your meal"???
I'm not proud of this quality but I AM proud of my restraint at times. I am also relieved when people learn this about me and we can avoid these unpleasant situations. It makes us all happier people.
I must say, however, I'm so enjoying my latest vendetta... It's playing out so very well.

I hope our President DOES read HuffPo for this.

An Open Letter to President Obama About the Republicans (From a Former Republican)

Dear President Obama: I know that from time to time you read Huffington Post because you've written for it. As a Huffington Post reader you'll know that no one on this web site has more faithfully supported your candidacy and now your presidency than me. As a former lifelong Republican, son of a co-founder of the Religious Right; my late evangelical leader father, Francis Schaeffer, I'm in a unique position to tell you a few things about the Republicans from inside perspective. (As you know I left that movement in the mid 1980s.)

The lack of cooperation you're getting from the Republican Party will continue. You were right to indulge in a little bit of tokenism when you had to Pastor Rick Warren pray at your inauguration. But if you think that the Republicans in Congress and the Senate are going to do more than their utmost to obstruct everything you are and what you stand for you're dreaming.

As someone who appeared numerous times on the 700 Club with Pat Robertson, as someone for whom Jerry Falwell used to send his private jet to bring me to speak at his college, as an author who had James Dobson giveaway 150,000 copies of my one of my fundamentalist "books" allow me to explain something: the Republican Party is controlled by two ideological groups. First, is the Religious Right. Second, are the neoconservatives. Both groups share one thing in common: they are driven by fear and paranoia. Between them there is no Republican "center" for you to appeal to, just two versions of hate-filled extremes.

The Religious Right supply the kind of people who at McCain and Palin rallies were yelling things such as "kill him" about you. That's the constituency to which your hand was extended when looking for compromise on your financial bailout bill.

There's only one thing that makes sense for you now. Mr. President, you need to forget a bipartisan approach and get on with the business of governing by winning each battle. You will never be able to work with the Republicans because they hate you. Believe me, Rush Limbaugh and Ann Coulter are the norm not the exception. James Dobson and the rest are praying for you to fail. The neoconservatives are gnashing their teeth and waiting for you to "sell out Israel" or "show weakness" in Afghanistan, whatever, so they can declare you a traitor.

The problem is that when you deal with the Republican Party you're talking to the polished characters in Washington. I wish you could see the hate e-mail's that I have received over the last two years because I supported you, letters calling for God to kill me, telling me that I hate God because I supported you and that I am "an abortionist" and worse a "fag lover" because I've written that I believe that you will be a great president.

What those senators and congressmen are telling you is not what their rabid core constituents are telling them. Their loyalty is to a fundamentalist Christian ideology on the one hand and American exceptionalism of perpetual warfare and hatred and fear of the "other" on the other hand. Between the neoconservatives and evangelical Religious Right Republicans you have no friends.

The good news is that most Americans support you. And if you will just get in the face of the Republican Party and call their bluff you'll be surprised how many individual ordinary Republicans will support you, not to mention the rest of us. America is sick of the Republicans.

The Democratic Party won for a reason: the Republicans failed and have taken us all down with them! You're doing your presidency and America no favor by extending an open hand to the perpetually knotted fist of what has become the embittered lunatic fringe of our country. They would rather go down in flames than "compromise" their ideology.

As you showed us again at your press conference of Feb 9, you are a brilliant, articulate and decent man. Your Republican opponents are not decent people but ideologues bent on destroying you. To quote the biblical adage sir, don't cast your pearls before swine.

I like this. I believe I should write open letters.

Fair?? Fair to who????

Michael Phelps:3-Month Suspension is Fair
DAVID GINSBURG | February 6, 2009 09:20 PM EST

BALTIMORE — Michael Phelps says it's fair for USA Swimming to suspend him for three months, the latest fallout from a photo showing the Olympic great inhaling from a marijuana pipe. Phelps was back training at his regular pool Friday, a day after his suspension.

"It's not my decision. It's theirs," Phelps said of USA Swimming's decision. "I have nothing to say, but if that's they want to do, that's their choice. It's something that USA Swimming came up with. It's fair. Obviously, for a mistake you should get punished."

Phelps won a record eight gold medals in Beijing and returned to America as one of the world's most acclaimed athletes. He made headlines of a different kind, however, in the wake of the photo, published Sunday by News of the World, a British tabloid.

"It was bad and stupid judgment, and something I'll always live with," Phelps said, minutes before diving into the pool at the Meadowbrook Aquatic Center, where he has trained since he was 7.

Although the fallout cost Phelps his Kellogg Co. sponsorship, Subway announced Friday it still supports him.

"Like most Americans, and like Michael Phelps himself, we were disappointed in his behavior," the statement said. "Also like most Americans, we accept his apology. Moving forward, he remains in our plans."

The fallout from the picture has been much greater than in 2004, when an underage Phelps was arrested for drunken driving three months after the Athens Olympics. He pleaded guilty and apologized to his fans, saying he wouldn't make the same mistake.

Phelps wasn't sure how the negative publicity might influence his decision to compete in the 2012 London Olympics.

"I'm taking it step by step, day by day. There's still a long way between now and then," he said. "But I'm back here, I'm training for who knows what yet. But I'm back in the water, doing the thing I love."

That's a welcome diversion from the attention he's getting outside the pool.

"From waking up to megaphones outside your house at 7:30 in the morning to still photographers out there every day for the last four days from 7:30 to when I left for a workout, I can just do what's normal for me," he said. "And right now that's me coming to the pool every day."

His coach, Bob Bowman, said the suspension will alter his plans for Phelps, who recently resumed serious training with the goal of qualifying for this summer's world championships in Rome.

"It takes away some options from our planning. You know, we had a plan of meets to kind of get us ready for the end of the summer and now we'll have to adjust that," Bowman said. "That kind of comes with this territory."

With the three-month suspension he won't be able to take on any rivals until early May, which would give him a little more than two months of competition before July's world championships in Rome.

The U.S. team for Rome will be chosen at the national championships July 7-11 in Indianapolis.

USA Swimming's decision to suspend Phelps didn't surprise Bowman.

"As a member of USA Swimming, I expected them to take action," Bowman said. "I think that we'll abide by it. I think it sends a very strong message to Michael and to others. I understand the disciplinary action."

And Phelps was thankful for those who have supported him.

"I've been getting messages on Facebook, both good and bad. E-mails, both good and bad. Text messages, all good," he said. "This is time when you need support. To have support from the majority of my sponsors, probably 90 percent, it means a lot. And it's something I'm very thankful for."

And what about his mother, Debbie Phelps?

"Mom wasn't happy," Phelps said. "She's been supportive through it, but wasn't happy."

That was taken from HuffPo.

This is MY opinion:

Okay so a rule is put down on the Olympic Law Book in November that no athlete will be allowed to participate in the Olympics if they have done drugs within 4 years of the next Olympics. This would disqualify him from 2012. No question. Right? Wrong.

Some people contend that he wasn't actually caught, he was ratted out by a friend of the party. Ummm, you mean a narc? Statistics show that upper class people or celebrities rarely get arrested on relatively minor marijuana charges, such as possession or paraphernalia. In fact, statistics show that there is a racial disparity and often people are incarcerated with a marijuana charge being their worst offense. So in all fairness, legally and morally the "Golden Boy" should have ALL of his sponsorships pulled and not be allowed to participate in the 2012 Olympic Games. There are people who are gifted athletes that have trained their whole lives and have actually lived by the laws Olympic and U.S. People who have earned the right to compete and be legitimate role models for our youth. His exemption from these rules and laws are so wrong and so unfair. This is not his first "youthful indiscretion." It's doubtful that it's his last. Bravo to Kelloggs.

Now for the part that will freak out my readers who would tattle to my mom (don't bother.. She already knows.) Although I tended to be a rebellious youth and dated "stoners" and had my own youthful indescretions, smoking pot was not among them. I was around it and all manner of drugs. I never smoked pot or any kind of drug growing up. But I think it should be legal. It's an insane law because in reality, alcohol is more physically damaging and I learned from the people I hung out with that alcohol tended to make (some) people angry and abusive while pot made them mellow. It has proven analgesic properties and IS legal in some states for this use. (Don't confuse my political opinion with my religious beliefs) Alas, this is NOT the case. Therefore Michael Phelps should not be above the law, Olympic or U.S. Fortunately for him strippers and being a man ho is NOT illegal. I won't get into the part about how money and fame makes the unattractive face more palatible. He IS entertaining in his stupidity. I can't wait to see what next week's screw up is.

Maybe everyone has to have someone that they so lack respect for that they can't let it go...

And maybe my feelings about the President Obama haters are clinging to something that is sad a negative. How can you want the President to fail? I don't care who you are people are losing jobs. Millions of them. Why doesn't America want America to rebound and thrive. Why don't people feel absolute pride and determination in this historical moment? I don't care who it is, Dem, Republican, man, woman, simple house wives, Nobel prize winning economists. He is listening. Not to BS intelligence or puppet master Cheney. He is listening and juggling a messed up system where The "socialist" bank bailout was done under former President Bush, but it won't be remembered this way unless it succeeds. Former President Bush signed on to ta bail out plan that had no real boundaries. Bernie Maddoff is on "house' arrest (zillion dollar mansion) for a mind boggling crime that has left people broken and bereft. People are committing suicide and taking out their families now because the are scared and have no hope. How about these crooks funneling money to friends relatives and who knows where else, start paying these people back. The blood of these hopeless people are on their hands. Is dishonest wealth worth burning in hell later? We have to come together and support our government. We've lost pride in our country we've lost respect. President Obama is so overwhelmed I am not sure WHERE I would begin. But fortunately, for the first time in 8 years we have a President who is smarter than I am. Actually first time in 8 years a President smarter than my 11 year old.

Now onto the Ripley's Believe it or Not part of my rant. I have zero respect for Sarah Palin. She's an attention whore and has no problem pimping out her children until we start to realize that she's not that great of of a mother and the kids are props. I thought the wardrobe debacle was a very defining moment for her. I went to high school in the worst place on earth. A cowtown that fancied itself a hub of elite. Name brand clothing, big trucks, new cars, homes they will never afford is a front for poor credit and bankruptcy. I have told my children that they should ignore name brands and go for what looks nice on them and that they have no need of name brand unless the paparazzi shows up on our doorstep to see what they are wearing to school. That until a red carpet event takes place in podunk Utah, we dress within out means. They seem to accept that and agree.
I see that there are some heavy hitters ready to take on Palin. I am thrilled.
Bravo Ashley Judd.
So NOW the insult to all women's intelligence is planning a road to nowhere. She so filled with pork, she oinks her greetings. Read this: Road to Nome
I have read frightening stories of the people in Alaska of people choosing between heat and food. Forget yourself and help you very unique and beautiful state. Your people are far more important that you are. Oh and so are you children. If you can't juggle being a mother and a governor, drop politics. You aren't helping your state and your kids aren't props. Also quit kissing our President's butt. You can't address your party in an attempt to bring them together due to state business yet you leave the state to go to an even that the President was at hoping for an audience?? Maybe he took you irresponsible advice. He's keeping better company now.
