Update to Trump Era Newcomers

Until I understand this EU Cookie law better I will leave Google's complimentary notice that this blog uses Blogger and Google cookies. These include Google Analytics and AdSense cookies. Also, I feel that I should warn that this blog was started in the style of and in response to the toxic commentary of Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh. I don't mince words and the people who cannot see common sense in my words or are deliberately uninformed may not like the way I express myself. I moderate comments because I have had stalkers that posted filth in response to my religion. I'm not afraid to post conflicting opinion comments but I filter threats and inappropriate language comments. This comes in response to the Trump Era. May it be shorter than 4 years. =)

I feel like I live in an alternate universe.

So Arizona Governor Jan Brewer signed into state law a bill so backward it can only be compared to the treatment of "free" or "free born" black people in the 1860's where they were required to register at the courthouse like sex offenders. If they didn't have the papers they could be sold as a slave. This time it's Hispanic people and deportation or 6-12 months of jail time if they can't show their papers. U.S. Sen. John McCain on Monday called the bill a "tool that I think needs to be used."
Of course he did. Sen. Leah Landrum Taylor, D-Phoenix, predicted the legislation would cause chaos by spawning suspicion among neighbors, friends and relatives about who might be in the country illegally. "Our state will be going completely backward," she said. Our entire country is moving backward, honey!
Can we trade Orrin Hatch for Senator Taylor before the Republican Kool-aid crosses over into Utah? Rush Limbaugh called President Obama a racist. That's irony that would baffle O.Henry. Glenn Beck is jumping up and down, because he has an insane new chalkboard theory and no one is taking it serious. Glenn you are batsh!t crazy... The majority of your audience is people who are looking for a good laugh until The Daily Show comes on.
A little off topic here, but why do these idiots who have the Conservative masses so riled talking about what the government is taking away look so well fed? These men aren't concerned about US spreading the wealth. They've just found a way to become a well paid detriment to society with all the Cons and the fringe groups kneeling at their feet. THEY don't want to miss a meal.
This crazed law is going to create some chaos between legit Conservatives and the racists that have smacked a Tea Party label on their butts to make them relevant.
After President Obama softened on the idea of off shore drilling, a MAJOR explosion and oil spill happens in the Gulf of Mexico. I personally, hoped that he'd explore the idea of offshore drilling with extreme caution. Contrary to the "Drill baby, drill" enthusiasm of SOME people, safety measures need to be foremost in the minds of Americans along with alternate energy options. 11 workers are missing and presumed dead. Environmentally it could prove to be devastating. One wonders which would be more costly to the big oil companies* (and politicians that stroll hand in hand with them) the loss of that $600 million rig. I'm going to assume that the cost of the the men or the 4 endangered species unique to that region isn't important to them or they wouldn't have so strongly resisted new safety measures proposed to stop this kind of tragedy from occurring.
BP Exploration & Production, which owns the deep water rig that exploded last week in the Gulf of Mexico, was cited in 2007 for inadequately training employees in well control, according to the US Minerals Management Service.

The conditions of the training are the same as those suspected in the possible blowout aboard the TransOcean Deepwater Horizon, which left 11 workers missing and presumed dead.

Halliburton, one of the largest oil and gas service companies in the world out of Texas with ties to the Bush administration with Vice President Dick Cheney being Halliburton’s chief executive prior to taking office in 2000. It was also reported in 2004 that "The company has been the number one financial beneficiary of the invasion of Iraq, raking in some $18 billion in contracts to rebuild the country’s oil industry and service US troops."

I also read a comment today from a Tea Party activist bringing up all of the things that have reflected badly on the Republican Party (such as it is), the Bush Admin, and the misc. Conservative Loons and suggested that President Obama and the Dems are behind all of this. Now THAT is STELLAR denial! Dude, Dick Cheney can't even be human. He's so old and evil it HAS to be demonic and how long can they avoid prosecution?? Take the money of the big oil companies refusing to comply with safety laws, Cheney/Halliburton, anyone who profited off of the fall of America. I'm pretty sure the financial issues would be greatly improved.

Oh great! Glenn Beck has a wingman..

Father Anonymous from the Vatican has just joined Glenn Beck in his prophecy of doom for all Progressives. I'm sure the Catholic church is just thrilled to have Glenn Beck onboard. Dude, don't they have enough problems? Talk about Armageddon! Glenn Beck joins EVERY church and becomes a prophet. Someone shave his head and put us out of our misery. That 666 has GOT to be going neon soon!

Glenn Beck: A Vatican-approved, "wildly important" warrior against forces of "great darkness"?

April 22, 2010 8:11 pm ET by Ben Dimiero

Capping a week in which he attempted to explain the "plan" he "think[s]" God wants him to "articulate," Glenn Beck informed listeners of his radio show today that "an individual" at the Vatican purportedly told him that we are entering a "period of great darkness" and that Beck himself was "wildly important" to the upcoming struggle.

Glenn Beck frequently paints himself as fighting on behalf of "good" against the forces of "evil." Beck has said that "the opposition side" (aka progressives) could turn America into a force for "great and powerful evil."

Some other examples:

* Last August, during a paranoid rant about the Obama administration supposedly trying to destroy him, Beck said that there is "evil at play" in the administration.

* Discussing a report about euthanasia in Canada, Beck tried to scare his listeners about health care reform by stating that "eugenics is starting all over again," and saying a "great and powerful evil is here."

* While lying about Democrats supposedly "using water as a weapon" for health care votes, Beck claimed that the Dems were "so far past the line of evil."

* In his epic meltdown after passage of the health care reform bill, Beck got Biblical, saying that "the fruit of this tree is extraordinary evil."

Beck also frequently implores his audience to "fall to their knees" and pray for a variety of reasons. Last September, Beck told his listeners to pray to prevent a Satanic "perversion of the country." After passage of the health care bill, Beck appallingly said that "it's like 9/11 all over again except we didn't have the collapsing building," and that everyone should pray.

He has told his listeners to "pray that Obama moves to the center," then asked them to pray for his protection from the "uber-left" if he does so. Similarly, Beck once told his listeners that "this game is for keeps" with "the left", and asked them to "pray for protection." And he once told his viewers to "fall to your knees" and "thank God every day for the people at Fox" airing his show.

Which brings us to today.

Today, Beck used two outrageous recent stories to launch into his latest religious-tinged discussion. The first was the deplorable story of a teenager high on oxycontin that ran over and killed an elderly woman with her van. The second was a despicable story from the UK, in which Daily Mail columnist Virginia Ironside advocated letting "nature decide" whether premature babies should survive. Crazy stuff, to be sure - but Beck used this to launch into an attack on the idea of "progress." (Right after he explained how "an individual" at the Vatican informed him of his importance, that is). From his radio show today:

BECK: We are entering a - we are entering a dark, dark period of man. Um, I was, um, I was in the Vatican, and I was surprised that the individual I was speaking to knew who I was. And they said: 'Of course we know who you are. What you're doing is wildly important. We're entering a period of great darkness, and if good people don't stand up, we could enter a period unlike we have seen in a very long time.'

It was odd to stand in the Vatican and hear those words. Of all places that would understand the Dark Ages. We are dealing with people who want to deconstruct the world. They say they are for progress, but their progress is to deconstruct. Their progress is to go backwards. Instead of inventing our way out of something. Instead of heralding achievement and merit, they destroy it. Instead of respecting life, we devalue it.

Of course, Beck doesn't clarify whether the "individual" he talked to was a Vatican official or a tourist from Omaha, but the impression he wants to give his listeners is clear: the Vatican itself has identified Beck as "wildly important" in the coming "dark, dark period of man."

You may see the ongoing debate in our country about health care reform, financial reform, and a variety of other issues in terms of how they will affect our policy decisions. Glenn Beck envisions things on a slightly larger scale - with himself at the center of it all.

False Prophet.

I've been pretty clear on my position regarding Glenn Beck. He is particularly irritating to be because he claims to share my faith, but he doesn't. It's not a matter of differing opinions. He's wrong. His statements stray further from our beliefs and none of it is in keeping with the beliefs of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints. He has completely gone out on some tangent that is inappropriate and has, in fact, contradicted to the words of the TRUE leaders of our faith.

1. He has no place telling people that words that he twists to his purpose hold some sort of evil intent. Especially when the faith he belongs to and claims to believe in teaches in social justice in it's pure form.

2. He sounds like a televangelist and has proclaimed himself a prophet. Our clergy is not paid. The words that are spoken to us in church and on the televised semi-annual General Conference are from men who don't make any money for speaking these words. Glenn Beck was paid $30 million to speak words that are crossing a line from freedom of speech to sedition.

3. His nonsense on the census IS in direct opposition to our beliefs and instruction. The LDS church has one of the largest genealogy databases in the world. The census has been crucial in that endeavor.

Please do not base your opinions on a man who has seriously lost touch with reality.

Domestic Terrorists pt.1

"Well, you see, the dirty little secret that communists, Marxists, and progressives don't want you to know is their system has never ever worked." Glenn Beck

"[President] will slowly but surely take away your gun or take away your ability to shoot a gun, carry a gun" Glenn Beck

Some quotes from some of the more lunatic fringe of our country. The difference about them saying it and McVeigh saying it is that they have mindless followers that believe their lies so they will never have to dirty their hands. That's basically what Rush Limbaugh is trying to do, pass the blame. People listen to this nonsense, old people, stupid people, weak people. They will do all the "clubbing in the head with a shovel" work for Beck and he will spin it until the blame rests on the government. These people who are paid for what McVeigh died for are abusing the right of free speech.
Again, Glenn Beck does NOT represent, in any way, shape, or form, the beliefs or ideals of the Mormon church.

"Taxes are a joke. Regardless of what a political candidate "promises," they will increase. More taxes are always the answer to government mismanagement. They mess up. We suffer. Taxes are reaching cataclysmic levels, with no slowdown in sight... Is a Civil War Imminent? Do we have to shed blood to reform the current system? I hope it doesn't come to that. But it might." Timothy McVeigh

"I don't think anybody that understands economic systems can deny" that "America is moving from free-market economy to a socialist economy" Sean Hannity

"Those who betray or subvert the Constitution are guilty of sedition and/or treason, are domestic enemies and should and will be punished accordingly." Timothy McVeigh

"It also stands to reason that anyone who sympathizes with the enemy or gives aid or comfort to said enemy is likewise guilty. I have sworn to uphold and defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic and I will. And I will because not only did I swear to, but I believe in what it stands for in every bit of my heart, soul and being....Good vs. Evil. Free Men vs. Socialist Wannabe Slaves" Timothy McVeigh

"We will thrive -- as long as these people are not in control. They are taking you to a place to be slaughtered." Glenn Beck

"The government is afraid of the guns people have because they have to have control of the people at all times. Once you take away the guns, you can do anything to the people. You give them an inch and they take a mile. I believe we are slowly turning into a socialist government. The government is continually growing bigger and more powerful and the people need to prepare to defend themselves against government control." Timothy McVeigh

"This is a total government takeover, and Big Brother coming in and taking our guns and schools and doctors." Ann Coulter

What's the difference between Michelle "Bombshell" McGee and Glenn "Disgrace to God and Country" Beck?

Nothing.
Both are whores.
Both are white supremacists that love to dress like Nazi's.
Both are an embarrassment to this country and all humanity.
Both can fake emotion to try to excuse what they are. There's no excuse.

I know it seems like I've hung up my poison pen..

BUT, I haven't. I've been writing, I just don't publish. I have as many unpublished entries as I have published. Mainly it's because it's so repetitive. You know what they say about old dogs and even older tricks I've also been playing 'catch up' on Supernatural which is into it's fifth season... I have little choice, crazy is crazy and they keep at it. So here we go again though I'll work on spiffing it up Supernatural style:

Glenn Beck has a new book of fairy tales of which his faithful sycophants will launch to the top of the NYT bestseller list. And lest they feel they are worshiping a false god, he's letting them vote on which picture he slaps on the cover. Will those who pick the winner be honored and the illustrator think, "I really could have done all of this work for a better cause?" I'm going to lay bets that he uses them all (pictures. Well pictures AND lackeys). Meanwhile, he rakes in enough money to save a third world country which according to his "hypothetical" thriller it will be us, actually according to Supernatural it will be us too:
Palin 4 Prez
then we hear this from Beck:
She could be the devil, she could say 'I hate America, I want to destroy America,' and that way they'll only be able to say, 'Oh, Why do you hate gay immigrant black, gay, handicapped women.' Because that's what this has to be. It must be about.. And when I say this, I mean all of it.

They must energize their base. And Their base is getting smaller and smaller. Their base is becoming unions, thugs, MoveOn.org, Huffington Post--that's their base.

Oh wait, that prophecy isn't about Palin it's about President Obama's choice for Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens' replacement which hasn't been announced yet, other than the voices in Beck's head. Hey, here's a question on this part: "gay immigrant black, gay, handicapped women" So if she's gay she likes chicks, then she's immigrant black, gay again so that brings her back around to straight again? And is there any reason, in all seriousness, that a gay immigrant (but naturalized),black, gay handicapped woman COULDN'T be a SCJ?? What part of that means that they couldn't bring fair and wise justice to the table? And the Democrat base is union-thug-moveon.org-HuffPo readers? Has he noticed the racist-sexist-teapartying-birther-palinite-paranoia-hypocrites aren't doing the Republicans any favors? Dude! These loons will follow the Constitution as they see fit and change the National Anthem to the dueling banjos off of Deliverance.
Orrin Hatch needs to shut the freak up. He's always been reasonable enough, but he's definitely a loud voice in The Party of NO! I mean, the first we heard after the announcement of Steven's retirement is that Republics will filibuster the President's choice. Isn't that serious evidence that they aren't representing their states nor their party? They are seriously undermining the President. The respect that was instilled in us as children, the pride in our country is disappearing fast. In fact, the historical break through by having elected a President that is black who in turn is making history in the appointments and progress he's made has brought out an ugly truth about America. Some people have never agreed with desegregation (wasn't a shocker that for some people in the south, they aren't over the civil war thing.). I think these are the ones labeled "real Americans" by Palin.

Speaking of Palin, I hope everyone caught Tina Fey's new impression of Sarah! I agree that Fey is absolutely genius in her impression. She looks like her, she talks like her, but no matter how talented Fey is, NO ONE can fake stupidity. Again, the staggering amount of money she pulls in with her fear mongering and treason stirring up hatred and intolerance, not to mention diva demands and shopping sprees is needed in rebuilding the damage done during the Bush administration or Haiti. SOMETHING worthwhile. One of my favorite characters on Supernatural is an angel named Castiel. The actor is Misha Collins. Some of the hardcore fans of the show have gotten tattoos of various aspects of the show, the actors names, symbols, angel wings, etc. But Misha has a group of fans called Misha' Minions through UNICEF. They have, in a very short time frame, raised $30,000+ for Haiti. If all the money from the tattoos were donated, it would be HUGE. But he's used his celebrity for a good cause. Why doesn't these fearmongerers use THEIR celebrity for such a good thing??
I'm sure Bristol Palin intended her latest PSA to be a good thing, even though she took a page out of her mother's book on the value of pimping your child for press. The message is loud and clear, she is highly recommending that unless you come from a privileged home because if you do get pregnant as a poor teenager you won't have furniture and you can't do your hair or makeup ever again. She DID have the good grace to not say her unwanted child is the biggest mistake she's ever made when he's old enough to understand. Pretty soon she'll have to spell the words she doesn't want him to hear but I'm betting he learns to spell before she does.
Fox news pulled a flip flop that makes Romney and McCain look like amateurs. Okay not John "what's a maverick?" McCain.

180th Semi-Annual General Conference

This year General Conference landed on Easter weekend. If it were warmer, I felt better, and my kids actually cared anymore we'd have gone on a picnic or camping, even and listened to Conference on the radio. Last Easter we were in Hawaii. This year we're watching Conference at home. Yesterday's sessions were wonderful with Elder Holland delivering a no holds barred,I'm-talking-to-YOU! message, again. I swear I never really paid attention until last fall's message.

So yesterday we watched the first session, and I discovered following it on Twitter was really cool, because people point out things that may have slipped past me. Even with the release of the I-pad Conference had a higher trend on Twitter and like someone mentioned, it IS a bit more fun than Conference Bingo. After the first session, during the 2 hour break, I spread out a couple drop cloths and let my kids dye their Easter eggs. I set about making a massive amount of potato salad. My youngest daughter loves to help me make food. We take the seasoning of the food very serious. We throw in unconventional things and it's usually a work of art. My oldest daughter checks in every 5 minutes to see if it's done yet. She is rail thin. 5'7" and still growing. I made about 2 gallons of potato salad and she eats a staggering amount. By the time I had the mess cleaned up it was time for the second session. I watched a documentary on the Shroud or Turin and found it to be less convincing in proving it's authenticity than one I watched a couple of weeks ago suggesting a masterful fake with the ingenuity of Leonardo DiVinci. My husband and I hid the girl's Easter baskets and went to bed feeling the day had been very pleasant.

I'm typing this moments before today's first session begins. My youngest has worked her way through a amount of candy in the basket I hid in too easy of a place and she woke her sister to come watch Conference. It's beginning soon, and we see beautiful shots of the temple grounds and of the temple itself. The spring flowers people waiting to get into the conference center. The cameras carefully avoid the protesters. Most are of other faiths (a lot of signs proclaiming that we don't worship the right Jesus and that we're a freaky cult) some don't believe in much of anything.
*I took a break in writing so I could listen to the morning session, Presided over by President Eyring. President Uchtdorf spoke first and if you can't be moved by him, you're possibly defective. "Do we not hope that our many imperfections will be forgiven? Only proper we extend to others what we wish for ourselves." I'm not going to mention them all, but Elder Scott is getting better with age. Our Prophet's message was, as always, amazing. President Monson has always been one of my favorite speakers and with Eyring and Uchtdorf as the First Presidency, Conference it truly an experience that lifts our spirit and gives us hope. The theme thus far has been the importance of parents teaching their children in the home (spiritually and educationally), by word and by example.

My children have often questioned me about the crucifix we see on jewelry or the buildings of other Christian denominations. Sometimes it's difficult to remember that we choose not to use the images of the crucifixion (though it's certainly taught from the beginning of their education of scripture and faith). If you don't explain it carefully, they may very well tell a member of a different faith that wearing the crucifix is bad or a sin when, in fact, our reasons are very simple to explain. We tend to focus on the birth, ministry, the atonement, AND the resurrection. Of course the crucifixion is a major part of death of Christ, the atonement and the resurrection gives us hope and the desire to become more Christ-like. So Conference this year has been inspiring and a wonderful way to get our mind off of the chocolate bunnies, Easter baskets, and the hype that tends to overshadow the true meaning of holidays based on religious beliefs (I'm sure it happens to non-Christian denomination, but it seems to be more prevalent in Christian religions.

So the protesters have always baffled me. The time, money, and effort put in to try to convince us that we are on board a useless and crazy train headed for the wrong destination. Why do they care? AND why do they care ESPECIALLY this time that it coincides with Easter. Shouldn't they be celebrating THEIR Jesus's existence, and all that comes with it, that is celebrated as a renewal. If they aren't Christian, how 'bout a positive weekend? Somewhere warm. No matter their philosophy or religion, I'm not certain it's the best way to honor it by hating on Mormons.

Time for the second session. Happy Easter! If nothing else comes from the message our leaders are giving us, spend the day in positive and happy activities with your children, your family. We CAN'T be wrong on that part.
