Update to Trump Era Newcomers

Until I understand this EU Cookie law better I will leave Google's complimentary notice that this blog uses Blogger and Google cookies. These include Google Analytics and AdSense cookies. Also, I feel that I should warn that this blog was started in the style of and in response to the toxic commentary of Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh. I don't mince words and the people who cannot see common sense in my words or are deliberately uninformed may not like the way I express myself. I moderate comments because I have had stalkers that posted filth in response to my religion. I'm not afraid to post conflicting opinion comments but I filter threats and inappropriate language comments. This comes in response to the Trump Era. May it be shorter than 4 years. =)

"Judge not, that ye be not judged...

For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again." (Matt. 7:1-2) Contrary to what anti-Mormons will tell you, we have the same Bible and the same Savior that other Christian churches have. And if any of your time has been spent in reading of The New Testiment and of Jesus Christ you will know that judging people is God's job and frowned upon in most polite societies.
Today a man was killed in his church. He was tried, condemned, and executed by another man. He was found guilty of murder because he performed abortions. I don't think I need to point out the irony of killing someone because you believe them to be a murderer. Nor do I need to mention that the man in custody at this time (Scott Roeder) will be given a fair hearing and should HE be charged with murder he could face the death penalty. Kansas is a DP state and as I've mentioned in a previous blog >click<, people who claim to be "pro-life" often find the death penalty to be an appropriate punishment for murderers.

Lifted from HuffPo:
Randall Terry, the founder of anti-abortion group Operation Rescue who led protests against George Tiller's clinic in Wichita, Kansas in 1991, issued a statement about today's killing of the abortion doctor:

"George Tiller was a mass-murderer. We grieve for him that he did not have time to properly prepare his soul to face God. I am more concerned that the Obama Administration will use Tiller's killing to intimidate pro-lifers into surrendering our most effective rhetoric and actions. Abortion is still murder. And we still must call abortion by its proper name; murder.

Those men and women who slaughter the unborn are murderers according to the Law of God. We must continue to expose them in our communities and peacefully protest them at their offices and homes, and yes, even their churches."

Doctor Tiller is survived by his wife Jeanne, his four children and ten grandchildren. He was obviously pro-life, having chosen to father four children. He also supported a woman's right to choose. I have no doubt that Dr. Tiller has contributed to the life and wellness of many people. He will be remembered by many as the abortionist who was murdered for his beliefs. I, personally, do NOT support late term abortion. I can't judge others for choosing this path nor do I know why they choose it. It's not my place to be a moral judge. I also do not support violence in response to a difference in choices people make. I do know that this man was killed in an act of vigilante justice, in a house of God. He must have been on a spiritual path that was personal just as all of our paths to God are personal.
My condolences to the family and friends of Doctor Tiller. Also my prayers go out to all of the US Marshals being dispatched across our country to protect hospitals and clinics that perform abortions.

In my faith we are given rings at about the age of 5 or 6. They are a green shield with the letters CTR on them. Any LDS member can tell you what they stand for. Choose The Right. In America we have the Right To Choose, so we CAN Choose The Right.

**Careful what you wish for O'Reilly.. Blood on your hands is something that can be achieved with irresponsible words. Out of curiosity, do you chant "jump" when you see a man on a ledge? Or is that reserved for God's hopeless cases?
More from Fox's dullest tool.

Ghostwriter

When I was in high school I had a teacher that asked us to journal. We turned it in weekly (that's how I remember it) and we could flag it so she'd know it was private and she wouldn't read it. Just make sure that we'd written something. I've never been good at journaling, but I've been a drama factory since I was 2. In MY journal I wrote my feelings in the form of poetry. Very dreamy teenage angst stuff. I debated back and forth on whether I would allow her to read it. I did. She didn't grade us on quality but on whether or not we actually wrote. Little by little she started to write me notes. Comments and eventually critiques. Sometimes I liked her suggestions and changed things, sometimes I'd plead "poetic license" and who can argue with that? Then she asked me if she could send some of them into anthologies and contests, but they were so personal that I asked her to publish them under a pseudonym. I wrote in my journal off and on through the years, but I often felt that I revealed too much and didn't want it read after I died (this is something I thought of because my grandmother wrote everyday and even typed up it's enormous and we love reading it). So my journal has sporadic entries and usually flamboyant doodles on who I was crushing on at the time. Pretty worthless stuff, although I did plan my funeral. Good luck finding all my pallbearers! A few are probably in prison now and I'm not sure that my nephew can play Careless Whisper on the saxophone anymore.
This blogging thing is totally for me. I know (now) people read it and I get comments in various forms on some of my posts. Matthew is very open in his critiques. Lately 'Shemp' took note of my departure into an odd reaction I felt in discovering that my half sister passed years ago. Sometimes I go on tears where I write several times a day and then something will move me to silence for awhile. It's interesting to know that people watch my little drama. Some I have no clue who they are, some are people I know from the worldwideweb, some I have always known. I wonder who knows me best. Is it a childhood friend? A family member? The friend that seems to think my mind is a fascinating place when in reality it is a chamber of regret, hope, sadness, happiness, and A LOT of frustration. Who knows me best here? And why do you come here so often? I am stunned by that. My politics are obnoxious and my rants are often offensive. What brings you back?

If I could paint...

There are so many unlikely people stepping up to take the reins of the GOP right now. None of them are in office. All are painting a vivid picture in my mind. Since I can't paint it, I'll describe it.

In the center we see a man being waterboarded with faces we recognize surrounding him glowing with sick pleasure. On the floor is a balance scale, one side labeled FREEDOM the other SECURITY. It is balanced but empty. On the right side we have a long line of people waiting their turn on the waterboarding table. Their faces not showing fear but resolution. These are men who are willing to strap explosives to their bodies and detonate themselves to make a point that none of us really understand. But being waterboarded is not frightening to them because they have either used the technique themselves and think these torturers are amateurs, or they realize they are a small cog in a larger machine. They all believe that they are right and they are willing to die for it.
On the left we see a group of people huddled in fear and horror, clutching an American flag. They realize that they've not had freedom OR security for a very long time. But even worse, these torturers are people that THEY gave the power to and the torturers lied all along. The people are sickened by what they've become and think of the people who THEY love. People who died for what they believed in, but they were lied to too.

Sister.

So my mom had been previously married when she married my dad. She had 4 kids and while the age difference between them and I has always been an issue, I grew up with them as my sisters. My dad had been married twice before and the first marriage took place shortly after he returned home from WWII. He was happy and so no real signs of marital problems other that the regular. He drank, but from what little I know, it was a pretty normal marriage. And they had a child. Her name was Patricia and was born with Down's Syndrome which I assume was something that was fairly misunderstood back then (1940's). His wife took the baby with her to visit her mother. When she returned, her feelings had abruptly changed. She wanted a divorce. I don't know what they had decided about visitation but according to him she felt threatened by him. I am guessing he threatened to sue for custody. She took out a restraining order keeping him from his daughter's like completely. I have a box of pictures that I inherited because most of them are people I couldn't identify and no one else wanted them. There are a lot of baby pictures of Patricia as a baby. From what I understand the blame was placed on my dad and his mother in law convinced her daughter that if he hadn't drank the baby would have been fine. Since that time we know more about it and it comes from the #21 chromosome. They were also told she wouldn't live long. So I've always known that I have another half sister and my dad, who honored the court order and never saw her again, learn she was placed in a psychiatric ward very early on. His ex-wife didn't raise her. When my dad died I made sure that his ex wives were informed, just out of respect. I thought a lot about Patricia over the years. I didn't want to cause distress or confusion for her. My mother contacted Patricia's mother some time ago and was discouraged from trying to keep in touch. Even though they each had daughter by my father. Yesterday I was curious and did some research and discovered that Patricia passed away 5 years ago. I was sad and distracted and then a bit annoyed that her mother wouldn't have told us. I did more research and discovered that she had died within a year of her daughter. It makes me sad.

Ouch Princess Hannity. Sucks to be you.

I've been waiting with a bag of microwave popcorn on my counter top with a label that says "Hannity Eats Wet Crow Popcorn. DO NOT TOUCH!" I think it was a big offer on Olbermann's part. I mean if you truly feel that it's not torture and you know it is going to be well supervised (more than the prisoners got) and the money is going to Charity, why would you NOT do it??? I mean we paid the faux waterboard pros $1000/hr for their services. This is a great idea. But as predictable as infotainers often are, Hannity ignored the throwing down of the gauntlet. So he's a chicken turn and probably sexually repressed like Bill Maher suggested. But Mancow Muller who I don't know much about other than the occasional radio interviews with Drew 'the black widower' Peterson, agreed vocally that it wasn't torture and he'd do it to prove it. He's been very vocal about the experience and full out willing to admit he was wrong. Apparently his people contacted Olbermann's people and Keith made good on his word and paid $10,000 that went to a military-families charity of the man who did the waterboarding, "Veterans Of Valor." The offer to Hannity is withdrawn. I think that speaks volumes. Here is the video clip, but it goes into Hardball after Olbermann tells Hannity is unnecessary. Ouch! Maher may be right, Hannity is repressed and his wife deemed him unnecessary years ago.

ACCCCCCKKKKKKKK!!!!!

I realize I often talk about people who are complete idiots and I often am irritated by the same people over and over, but Perez Hilton is such a stupid jerk. I realize I was not an Adam Lambert fan in the beginning, but after Allison left Idol I didn't really care who won because I really liked them all. I just thought she should have made it a bit further. I wasn't really surprised that Kris won, but I have my doubts about staying power. Adam Lambert is going to be just fine, I think. I was telling my fam that I thought it would be cool if he could front Queen because he reminded me a lot of Freddie Mercury. Now I know that Freddie Mercury is a legend and can't be replaced and Queen has been fronted quite a few times by other people including my favorite male vocalist of all time, George Michael. So the other day I saw that the band members of Queen had made a comment that they would be interested in working with Adam Lambert. Again, there are some people who can't be replaced, like Michael Hutchence of INXS. But there is other greatness within these bands. Why NOT try? I've seen a lot of outraged reaction to the idea because Adam isn't Freddie Mercury, but HELLOOO???? He's dead. It wasn't a diva fit. He died. It seems worth a try to me. Perez apparently just heard this news because he mentioned it today on his blog. Seems like the Gossip Queen is slipping. The worst part? Perez has turned on Adam because he has chosen not to confirm whether he is gay or straight. Seems like it's one of those pro choice issues I blogged about days ago. Who cares if he's gay or straight and technically a lot of of people haven't chosen to "come out of the closet". I have decided that I WILL come out publicly on my blog. I'm straight. I don't want a parade and I realize many people don't really care what goes on behind closed bedroom doors but Perez has become the gay and lesbian community's worst enemy IMO. He so sucks, but I hope Adam and Queen give it a try. That would be very cool. In the meantime, INXS, keep looking. I miss them too.

I stole this from Jason Linkins....

So I can prove it's not just me that thinks Glenn Beck is a tard.

BECK: Judge, you listen to my radio show. I tell stories. I tell about experiences of my life and everything else, and I told the story about riding on the train with the two ladies of The View, and apparently I was a liar because I said that -- which is true, that she -- Barbara Walters said hello to me. Instead, it was I said hello to Barbara Walters. I walked up to her -- I guess that's what we need to spend our time on for 7 minutes.

As usual, Beck is being disingenuous by reducing the whole encounter to a dispute over who said hello to who first. In actuality, the "story" Beck told was about how: 1) Goldberg and Walters reserved seats on Amtrak, the subtext being that they were acting like some sort of celebrity divas, 2) implied that Walters was unpleasant in her conversation by affecting a mocking and exaggerated imitation of her voice, and 3) implied that it was Beck's great influence and magnetism that caused the View ladies to approach him and seek his attention, when in actuality, it was the reverse.

Beck took leave of his show thusly:

BECK: What kind of person would go on national radio and say he introduced himself or they introduced themselves to him when, indeed, the truth, your honor, is that he introduced himself to them?

NAPOLITANO: Oh, boy. are you going to be back tomorrow, big guy?

BECK: I'm going to hang up the phone, take a little more Nyquil so I can rest medicine.

The answer to your first question is "a lying sack of dog mess." Enjoy getting bombed on Nyquil, though!

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/05/20/whoopi-goldberg-calls-gle_n_205845.html

Oh great, another right wing, white collar drug abusing, big mouth, idiot. How much fun would an evening of Rush and Beck, knocking back OxyContin with Nyquil be? Ummm Glenn, again, abusing OTC medication to help you sleep at night is not only against the Word of Wisdom, but a sign that perhaps you are doing something that is dishonest or shady resulting in sleepless nights.
Just saying...

This may cause a monumental brain cramp...

So I was watching Real Housewives the other night with my daughter and one of the guys on there brought up something I have actually thought of myself. It's hard to explain and my daughter is finally kind of getting it but it's one of those things that make you crazy.
So... How do we know if we all see colors the same? What if the color that I know of as blue is different than the color YOU see as blue. What if I could take a picture of a normal sunny day on my lawn from MY perspective and what I have always seen as blue in the sky isn't your red and the grass is purple and the sun is green? What if you saw through my eyes and it looked like an LSD trip? Weird thought, huh?? Maybe everyone has the same favorite color but the color is called something different for each person.
Savvy?

Umm Glenn Beck? It's me again..

Listen mo boy, you lied, get over it. I have tried to explain to my kids that "hell" and "damn" are in the Bible so if you are talking about the place known as outer darkness it's not a bad word. That is Hell. The people who reserve their train tickets to get to Hell are damned. When you throw it out on your radio show like a trashy loser that just got totally owned by GIRLS it's cursing. Also frowned upon by the LDS church. One may wonder why I can point these things out when I am known to curse rather often, so I sound like a hypocrite but I haven't pimped out a book about my conversion. You were on a roll. You should have just said "bullshit".

For the love of God and Country...

WILL SOMEONE READ CHENEY HIS MIRANDA RIGHTS OR TAKE HIM FREAKING DUCK HUNTING???

No comments on caps please. It's enough already.

It's the final week of school here...

My oldest is graduating and will be in high school in the fall. They are having a semi formal dance and she's never really been to one. She's a tad goth-ish without the moods. She had her hair done and it's breathtaking. She has the perfect "little black dress" and I did her make up. She doesn't look 14. She doesn't like boys her age because they bore her intellectually and they are too giggly and weird. So she just left for a dance looking 18 and beautiful. I feel like I'm going to puke. I wish I could show you.

Note to people who seem to be brain dead:

If you go on The View you are going to be "ambushed". Ummm duh, people have been whining about it for years. If you are sensitive, DON'T GO THERE!!!
And Glenn,(we all knew I was talking to Glenn Beck, right??) you wouldn't fair well on The Daily Show either. >Newsflash< Jon Stewart chews little crybabies like you up and spits you out.

Here's a couple of ideas for a cool show:
1. Stay for the THIRD segment of The View and let them untie Whoopie. I have a feeling she could make you cry BIG TIME!!
2. Go pick up Jim Cramer and drop in on Jon Stewart. Jim was begging for mercy and asking for forgiveness on The Daily Show then when he's safely out of reach he cries foul to anyone who will listen.

Go back. You know what to expect now. If you have a legitimate case then make it. But stop the whiner baby crap (that goes for you too Cramer.)

Ronald Reagan said: "Facts are stupid things." but they tend to be important if you expect to be credible. You no doubt lied and flip flopped, but then you always do. You started into the second segment pretty good but we were dubious after having listened to you flat out lie. Then you took offense and put words into Barbara Walter's mouth when she asked about what you stand for and that you cry. She meant no offense, you chose to take it that way. Crocodile tears and lies. You sound like a spoiled, petulant, woman. And I don't care what religion you are affiliated with. Lying is a pretty obvious no no. So stop your whining Mormon boy. Get a spine and your stories straight.

Here's the interviews:
Pt.1
Pt.2

Sherri gave the best advice. When you are being spanked, CRY!

I'm pro-choice....

I had to go to the doctor today and ran some errands so I had the radio on. I have Sirius in my car so I can listen to leftist talk radio. I have yet to find a talk radio show I like because all the hosts that I've ever listened to are annoying and arrogant and in all reality they don't seem too intelligent. So I was listening to this guy and a woman called in for some help. She was pro-choice and debating the issue with someone she knew and needed to know why she was pro choice. The host advised her to resort to science to confuse the conservative (assuming, of course, that this is a really stupid person) He advised that she talk about the 'blastula' being taken from the womb within the first three months and allowed a chance to survive which, of course it won't. (Embryo or fetus humanizes what some would like to dispose of with no emotional involvement.) I was 15 years old when I met my first atheist. He was my boss at the lab I worked at that summer in Upward Bound. I listened to the debates of these employees of the lab speak of the growth of a child and many of them were christian and probably Mormon. But these were very intelligent men debating science without religion at all. My boss talked of the classic parasitic relationship of the growing embryo to it's host. Parasite sounds so draining. So nasty. In reality there are parasitic or symbiotic relationships that are beneficial, in fact most are. Oops digression.
I have been pregnant 3 times. My first ended after 3 months in miscarriage. The other two resulted in my beautiful daughters. All 3 were planned and very much hoped for. I chose to bring children into the world because I can. I followed all of the conservative rules. I'm married, we could afford to have children, I'm Christian. No scandals. I chose to become a mother because I am pro-choice.
This radio host also said that a reasonable argument is that if someone is in a car accident and needs medical assistance to live that it is interfering in the natural order of things. If God wants someone to live, they will live without interference. Here's the problem: that is ridiculous. It's human nature to do everything to save someone's life. Sometimes people are so determined to keep someone alive that they will let their loved ones live on life support with no real hope of the loved one coming back to them. That won't happen to me because I have a living will. I will not live on life support. Because that is my choice and I am pro-choice.
The opposite of pro-choice is anti-choice so if you aren't pro-choice you aren't pro-democracy, you are pro-autocracy and you think SOCIALISM sucks!
I am also quite obviously pro-life because, again, 3 pregnancies. I think the only people who are pro-death are serial killers and if we are going to go for the assumption that all conservatives or Republican are pro-life then let's assume that they are also pro-capital punishment for said serial killers which takes us back to pro-death.
So forget the semantics. It's really all about abortion. I'm Mormon and one thing we learn from the time we can sit in our own little classes at church we learn about free agency. That it is the gift we were given by God. Had we gone with option #2 we would be forced to do the right thing. Life is a learning experience. You make bad choices sometimes and those are the ones that shape us. Make us better people. If I was raped and discovered I was pregnant, I would NOT terminate the pregnancy. I'm pretty certain I wouldn't even give the child up for adoption, you know why? Because it's MY choice. If it was one of my daughters, I'd have them given the morning after pill. Because until they are old enough to deal with all of the issues that would come from an act forced upon them, I would be making those choices for them. I realize that the morning after pill isn't technically abortion nor is birth control, but these are the gray areas that we have to make choices about. We live in a country that allows us the freedom to MAKE those choices.
I wouldn't have an abortion. If my child gets knocked up out of unprotected consensual sex, they will be and have been told that morally I am opposed to abortion. It's not birth control and some choices have lasting results. I will help them, but they will be responsible for any child that came from an unwise sexual encounter. I will love and help, because I'm their mother and they are MY responsibility. I wouldn't approve of them choosing abortion. I believe that everyone should have the freedom to make their own choices. They should vote responsibly. They should own guns responsibly (if they want to). Making abortion illegal isn't going to stop it from happening. To assume it will is as asinine as Bristol Palin being the spokesgirl for abstinence. Instead we should stop being so completely naive as to believe that they are going to always abstain until marriage, although that is the best choice of all. We need to teach protection, responsibility, and morality.
Leave the moral judgment to God. And beware of those gray areas.

How very dark age crusade-ish.

Prophet of God Rumsfeld's covers of justification for the completely BS war intelligence has been released. Oh my freakishness!!!

Dumsfeld's Holy War

I'm not sure what President Obama is hoping to accomplish by trying to move forward with no accountability to the Bush Administration. He's doubling back on the promise of transparency and in some instances I understand. Though I believe the pictures of the other prisons where unlawful and immoral torture occurred, it's enough for me to know that we were lied to about Abu Ghraib prison. It wasn't an isolated incident and the orders came straight from the top, I don't need to see the pictures of our countrymen acting worse than the people we fought against. The pictures I've seen sicken me. I am kind of hoping that President Obama isn't really going to do nothing, because everyone involved from the top all the way down, people need to pay for this. It's not right. We need to stop making excuses. The soldiers that died fighting a BS war approved of by BS intelligence are owed justice. These men need to be in prison. From Bush on down.
Look at Rumsfeld's covers. They are seriously twisted. To terrorize when it goes against ever moral standard we have, but to use God to justify it is just twisted and wrong.

Innnnnnteresting!!

How good am I getting a picking potential political gems???? My daughter's school was honored recently for taking some remarkable strides to become more environmentally aware. Governor Jon Huntsman (who I've never liked nor voted for 'til his recent epiphany that he was going to have to get more moderate) was supposed to be at the school and my daughter was going to be an usher. I told her that if she met him that she should tell him all of what I just said. Unfortunately (or not, because I was kidding and I actually panicked that she might actually tell him all the stuff I've said) he didn't make it and she was bumped from usher to being interviewed on the news. See? They picked the politically aware child. I TOLD you all that I was a political mom. So today I see this:

Obama naming Huntsman ambassador to China

President Barack Obama plans to name Utah Gov. Jon M. Huntsman Jr., a rapidly rising star in the Republican Party, as ambassador to China, a senior administration official said.

The move is freighted with political intrigue. Huntsman, who speaks fluent Mandarin Chinese, quickly emerged after November as one of the leading moderate GOP voices.

Huntsman is often mentioned as a potential Republican presidential candidate in 2012, although some of his advisers think the party primary voters will be more prepared to accept his moderate views on the environment and gay rights in 2016.

Huntsman, who met with Obama’s transition team to discuss energy policy, was in Washington on Friday night, ahead of a planned Saturday announcement by the White House, The Salt Lake Tribune reported. Several Utah news organizations said the governor will resign and accept the appointment.

Huntsman, 49, served a Mormon mission in Taiwan. The governor and his wife, Mary Kaye, adopted a daughter, Gracie Mei, from China in 1999. In 2006, he led a trade mission to China "because of their prominence on the world stage and the way in which they are growing so rapidly," he told the Deseret Morning News of Salt Lake City.

During last year's Republican primaries, he endorsed Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), while his father — businessman Jon M. Huntsman Sr. — endorsed former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney. It was a politically shrewd move by the son, because the family was covered regardless of which candidate went on to be the nominee. And Huntsman advisers calculated that Romney would be unlikely to install a fellow Mormon in his Cabinet.

The move has political ripple effects for both parties, giving Democrats one less potential challenger to worry about, and elevating the prospects for Romney and Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty (R).

Ambassador to China is a more substantive job than many postings because of the national-security issues. George H.W. Bush, the future president, held the job from 1974 to 1975.

(Taken from Politico)

One thing you can always guess about Mormons and their forays into careers that include a second language is where they served their Mission. As for Mitt Romney being a contender in 2012.. Maybe when hell freezes over there will be a Mormon President (I'd say when pigs fly, but the swine flu joke is just passé.)
But remember I called Kathleen Sebelius as well. Although I would have chosen her as President Obama's running mate.

Who the freak is Mario Lavandeira?

Mario Lavandeira is not a name that is going to stick in anyone's memory for long, so he jacked Paris Hilton, kinda. And yes, I read his blog. At first he amused me but he's become such a tangle of crazy hypocrisy and self importance it's really difficult to stomach. I think it started to really bug me when he would take pot shots at people who were gay but not following proper gay protocol, or had chosen to keep it private, and the whole Jonas Brothers stalkerish adulation seemed creepy bordering on pedophilia. But he gets on these crazy tears about something and he doesn't seem to comprehend that he's irrational and glaringly hypocritical. He's been really obsessed with the passing of Proposition 8 and thrown a lot of blame and anger toward the Mormon church. To the point that he's become the height of intolerance. He rails on unfair hatred by promoting unfair hatred. I think it's pretty clear that Proposition 8 was passed by enough people in California that the Mormon church wasn't alone (not to mention that he is presuming that every Mormon in California voted yes). His new target is Carrie Prejean (well not new, but his obsessions go on forever and so this one SEEMS new. So the Donald decided that Carrie should be allowed to keep her crown as Miss California. And we all know that Donald Trump is the moral compass that wouldn't stoop to anything unsavory, ever. But I personally think she should be allowed to keep her crown. She was asked her opinion on a pretty hot issue, and she gave it. It's not weird that her opinion was not what Perez Hilton wanted to hear. I'm not sure it's weird that Perez was a judge because it's not like the world hangs in the balance on who actually won. It's that they chose someone so incapable of being impartial because evidence of him being fair has been as scarce as anyone who would even WANT to marry him if it WAS legal in California. It's weird that she's been drug through the mud for some pictures that were taken of her that were really not THAT much more revealing than the swimsuit portion of the contest. It's weird that her moral character has been questioned by the man who called her a bi+@# and a c*&t for her opinion that is not in the minority in California according to the Prop 8 results. It's weird that she has been in the news over and over for exercising her Constitutional right to speak her own opinion. It's weird that she chose to defend herself using belief in God and the Devil and THAT has been torn apart in the "Freedom of Religion" country. It's weird that implants is a major sin, because there are A LOT of people going to hell for that one and I haven't gotten the memo that it's become one of the Commandments. But the weirdest part of all?? I don't know who won. I can't remember. Most people probably never will remember who won. But Carrie Prejean hasn't and won't be forgotten anytime soon. Suck on THAT Perez Hilton!!!

I think I'm in the majority on this one..

Everyone wants the various cryptid theories to be real, don't they? Especially when a specific area has an original one like Scotland's Loch Ness Monster (Nessie) but the cheap knock offs like "Bessie" in Lake Erie, or "Chessie" in Chesapeake Bay are so lame. I mean, the mysterious sea creature sightings all over the world makes it a bit more common, but the similar names... No imagination. At least Lake Champlain's Champ goes for it's own unique name and they even have a scientific version: "Champtanystropheus".
Bigfoot seems like an uninspired name, but Sasquatch sounds a bit more official and Yeti is the best one of all because I would imagine most people in Tibet are lucid and have better things to do than make up crazy "I have Bigfoot in my freezer" stories.
Chupacabra is one of the best in my opinion because what is the heck is it?? It's description is pretty varied: Reptile/Mammal/Canine, possibly 2 species; thought to be a supernatural/alien creature by some Okay that definitely sounds like something you'd see when you've had one too many of something. I'm sure the location of that one has nothing to do with the varied description (Texas, Mexico, Puerto Rico) but the cool name more than makes up for it.
The Jersey Devil is a pretty unique one in description: Winged bipedal horse and I don't know much about New Jersey but I read Janet Evanovich's "Stephanie Plum" series and "Jersey Devil" is thrown around like "beautiful spirit" is in Utah. In West Virginia they call it Mothman only it's missing the horse part. Just a winged bi-pedal.
But right now the Montauk Monster has reared it's ugly beak in the Hamptons again this year, just in time for the Memorial Day weekend. It gives that "freakishly large shark menaces a wealthy mecca at a very busy time" feel to wealthy, paranoid, New Yorkers. I think it's kind of fun, but as with the bigfoot in the freezer episode, year 2 of the Montauk Monster could easily be explained away with DNA.
Sometimes scientific proof ruins all potential for imagination. Grainy photos, clay and feather hoaxes and passed down stories was so much more fun. Even the photoshopped pictures suck.

Oh Rush, you are such a kidder..

He was kidding, right???

LIMBAUGH: Have you ever had a genuine addiction to something? Well I have and let me tell you about it. It makes you entirely unreasonable and irrational. It is all you care about. Nothing else matters no matter how important...it doesn't matter as much as the addiction. Feeding it, the fear of not being able to is what animates your existence every day. These people are addicted to power because they think it is their birthright. And I'm not just talking about the people in Washington, elected officials, I'm talking about some of -- not all -- but some of the rank and file, madcap insane liberals that you will find blogging, that you will find emailing, that you will find on the protest march. Their lives are basically meaningless, their addiction to power and dominance and control is what drives them.

Okay, so insane liberals are addicted to power so his general insanity is an result of....?? Is he still on drugs?

Okay this is so wacked out.

I love Olbermann and I love Stewart. But in this one I agree with Stewart. I would love to see Perez Hilton on The Daily Show.

She politely offered her opinion, and agree or disagree it's her right as an American to have that opinion. She did nothing wrong and she's been annihilated. Totally not what America stands for.

A.I. Life is all about voting these days.

I recognize the role of Simon Cowell on American Idol. He's supposed to be a jerk. I have seen him on Punk'd and Oprah. He's not mean.

This is a description of the Punk'd I saw:

Simon Cowell has become a victim of TV prankster Ashton Kutcher's practical joke
show Punk'd.

The British Pop and American Idol judge became Kutcher's latest victim after a bogus valet at a posh Los Angeles restaurant convinced him that the keys to his $400,000 Rolls Royce had been handed over to the wrong man.

Cowell's fellow American Idol judge Randy Jackson [and Ryan Seacrest] was among those who set up the prank.

He watches what he believes to be his brand new Rolls Royce (which would pay for my house twice over)crashed into a construction site. He freaks out but not about the car. He starts asking about any people in the accident. If everyone is okay. He never freaks about the car. Also these judges sit for days listen to every freak in America that thinks that the only reason we aren't getting how talented they are it's because they can't bring their shower. By the time they get to Hollywood, if they can't take the inevitable spanking that the judges, especially Simon, they aren't going to be able to handle any of this, anyway. By the end I am usually impatient with the other judges (okay not Randy, but Paula needs to be on a judging panel with Little Richard. She makes no sense.) I think that by this time, Simon is giving them something constructive to work with. Not this year. I totally recognize that Adam is really, really, good, but he's not perfect and Simon hasn't mentioned yelling or shouting in his criticism of Adam once. He totally shouts, sometimes and the tongue thing is distracting. I am thinking he should get it pierced or something. I think Simon has been completely biased on this one. He doesn't give credit when credit is due, to the other contestants and in a sense I think he sabotaged Allison. Last night he told us who to vote for. Kris was the best last night, but between the Vote For The Worst Site and Simon, it's going to be interesting to see who wins...

Just a thought,,,

If you sink beneath the depths of what is morally right doesn't that make YOU a terrorist? or Rush Limbaugh? And if Bob Schieffer asks you if you have any regrets and you say no, doesn't that make you an unrepentant terrorist?

And the funny dinner thing I watched the other night and posted parts of yesterday.. So that was for the political elite, the unbiased press, and a few actors thrown in to make it pretty?? So why are the unbiased media acting like actors acting like they are outraged at the Limbaugh jokes? They felt Wanda Sykes went to far?? Too far as in 'it's not polite to make fun of overweight, drugged out, hypocrites that wish for the failure of the President he worked so hard to get elected' or too far like 'making up intelligence to convince the world we need to traipse all over Iraq looking for Weapons of Mass Destruction all the while knowing they aren't there and pretty sure it was okay with the President'?
Calling one of our largest and most beloved landmarks "treasonous"?? What kind of world IS this?? Next thing you know we'll be having people making up songs like "Barack the Magic Negro" or Backwoods Barbie inciting people who were just a pitchfork and torch away from storming the guy that was born in Kenya and pals around with terrorists... So Wanda, if you are reading this, (okay that kinda made me laugh) you may want to check the Constitution. Freedom of speech means you can bash the President and the country that affords you that freedom. But taking shots at Rush Limbaugh is like shooting a bald eagle, definitely frowned upon.

I'm stealing posts from messageboards to make a point.

US Soldier Kills Fellow Troops In Iraq
***UPDATE*** CNN has just sent out a breaking news alert reporting that senior defense officials have told the network that a US soldier killed 4 of his fellow troops before killing himself. Check back for more information.

McClatchy is reporting that a shooting at a U.S. base in Baghdad has left 5 soldiers dead. The shooting occurred at Camp Liberty, a base near the Baghdad airport.

This is updating often and so I have no idea what more will come out and what is the facts, but this was a soldier that was suffering post traumatic stress..

Okay here's where I jacked a comment:

Sad that just yesterday I was trading responses with someone else and sharing what I personally knew of things like "fragging" and "fratricide". Now we have yet another tragic example of it. Typically it's done by soldiers against superiors, but not always. In situations like this, people with existing psychological problems caused by their duty can suddenly just snap and do very irrational things.

This is one area where our previous administration was so wrong. They refused to recognize that our troops were being injured as mentally as they were physically. They ignored advice to give these troops help. They allowed them to live in substandard conditions, substandard care and then pronounce them all fit to be sent back for another 15 month tour.

Whatever happened to "support our troops"?

And support the troops means in sickness and in health until death do us part. Shouldn't we consider the lives of our armed forces when me make up fake wars??? This war will be costing us for a very long time, even after we get out of there and TRULY look for the Taliban.

Other big news of the day.. Wanda Sykes went too far by saying that it was treasonous for Limbaugh to wish for the country to fail and she said she hoped his kidneys fail. Harsh? Yes. On par with that fat, hypocritical, jackass?? Newp.

These jokes smack of reality and should have been said a LOOOOOOONG time ago.
Sykes pt.1

Sykes pt. 2

The Prez was great too. Find it as well.

Sometimes I think people totally miss the strides that are made in earlier generation?

I could list 100 examples but this is the one that is bugging me big time. Y'all know I'm a reality show junkie and I watch American Idol. In fact last year I made a donation to Idol Gives Back on the off chance I would get to talk to Michael Johns (and because of the amazing charity work that was done). No such luck. This year I've been pulling for Allison. I can't believe she's barely 17, but I wish I could have picked her songs for her. Sadly she went home last week. I think they should have pulled Adam Lambert months ago because he is in a league of his own. Doubtful that anyone can even come close and not because they lack talent but because he's larger than life. I was content with the final 4 and I am honestly happy with whoever wins. I think Kris needed to go home before Allison, because I didn't think he was vocally as strong, he's kinda hot. He reminds me of my major crush when I was 18. I don't totally love Adam, but I recognize he's really good. I keep seeing these pictures crop up of him dressing in drag. I don't think anyone was surprised to discover he's gay. But I saw a screen capture of some homophobe site that showed all the drag pics and him kissing other guys and they say "Do you want this man to be YOUR next American Idol?" Uhh, actually yes I do because in my opinion he's by far and away the best. He also comes off pretty humble and nice. I like him. I'm glad he lost the Michael Jackson crotch grabbing thing, though.
But America acts as if he's some freaky one of a kind perv. Am I the only one who paid attention to the music in the 80's??? Glam rock isn't new, most guys wore full out makeup in the 80's and more than one guy used my Aquanet. Some were obviously gay (Boy George, Elton John who went back to the 70's, I realize, and Pete Burns who was far hotter than most of the girls I knew) and some guys were totally straight. What is the big issue here? Adam Lambert may bring 80's glam music. That's a good thing and it's about time. Music has never been the same since!

UB stories*... fact or fiction?

Every summer from age 15-18 I spent 6 weeks in a college town an hour away from the town I grew up. I LOVED this 6 weeks. I took classes that in the first years that gave me high school credit and the last 2 I earned college credit. We also interned at a job for 4 hours everyday to boost our future resumes. My roommate was my best friend, keeper of secrets, president of my fan club..(okay she was my only fan..)and the best friend any girl could hope to have, Trayci.

One hot summer day we had some free time. The science building on campus was at the top of the street and we were walking down to the dorms that we lived in. The science building was at the top of a hill, so the sidewalk that ran along the street (and the street itself) was very steep. The water in the gutter collected from the various campus sprinklers and homes further up. The water never stopped running and was usually pretty full. It also ran swiftly. At the bottom of the hill there was a little culvert/bridge. The gutter was smooth cement, bright green and slippery with algae. Naturally we thought WATER SLIDE!!!!! Okay this could possibly be among my best days ever. I can't even begin to describe how fast we slid down that hill and how much road rash covered our elbows and knees from quickly rolling out before hitting the culvert (which neither of us did. I shudder to think what would have happened because we were seriously hauling butt.) We realized there was likely an activity or something we were required to be at soon and we were wet and green and I remember some blood. I honestly have never been a fan of sweat pants and the only way I can explain this is, it must have been laundry day and I was desperate because I had on a pair of sweats. Trayci was wearing something far more sturdy because when she fell behind me as I was walking we discovered that the sweat pants were no match for green cement. I had a giant porthole on the poopdeck. Yeah... that isn't really the most embarrassing moment I've ever had, but it was up there. Under job description for being President and sole member of the Monica fan club, there's a rule that clearly states "if my butt is hanging out and yours isn't, you have to walk so close behind me that no one notices the hole, but thinks we are up to something freaky anyway." So when Trayci say's "Hey Monica, I've got your back." She means it. Literally.

So?? Fact or fiction?

UB stands for Upward Bound which was a program that we could only be accepted into if we had good grades. Not to be confused with Outward Bound, which is where at that age I'd have been looking for boyfriends. UB stories will be cropping up occasionally.

The future generation is being cheated.

Has it ever occurred to these illustrious people that talk about every aspect of every loving political thing no matter how silly or asinine are confusing our children. Sean Hannity pointed out once again that our President is an elitist. His trip with VP Biden to grab a burger was hit by the media and we can always depend on one of the desperate talking head loons to make a 5 minute story about it. So our President really is an elitist. More devastating than that to me is that I am too. I am going to have to confess this dirty little secret to my children and I'm afraid it will make them lose all respect for me. President Obama asked for mustard and no ketchup on his burger. I too, love mustard. But our President will NOT eat commoners mustard like Frenches (although aren't we mad at at the French for wising up to the fact that the war in Iraq was a big fat lie? Brilliant little traitors. I hate people who don't enjoy war for the sake of war. (*sarcasm on the off chance that didn't translate well*) But President Obama ordered spicy or Dijon mustard. Okay, I like spicy mustard. I even order hot mustard for my Chicken McNuggets... I have no reason to go on living.
But onto the tragic, role models for our children. First Specter keeps changing parties and changes his story daily on which party he's going to support and then withdrawn to the comments as jokes. I would have thought he'd learn his lesson when in 2007 at the Rainbow Room he bombed on Polish jokes.. Okay, duh.
However the worst blow to the GOP came today. Joe the Plumber has quit the GOP. Our average Joe. Our lovable, ever wise Joe The Plumber, the team mascot has defected. How will we go on? How are we supposed to know that our children aren't safe around homosexuals??? I mean, it never occurred to me that it could be contagious. I'm not sure I can go on with my life. Is there a support group? And will these people who aren't happy with the current face of the GOP, start their own party? Like NINEN: No Intelligence,No Education Necessary. Can things get any worse for the GOP? I shudder to think of the possibilities.

Okay this man is a serial party hopper!

Sooo my long lost friend reappeared today and was not the least bit sorry to have worried me. Poopstain. But he was reading my blog and commented to me about the Arlen Specter post. Okay I had NOOOOOO idea that he was a Democrat and hopped on the Republican ticket. So I Wiki-ed. I know, not gospel but close enough for me:

In 1965, Specter ran for District Attorney, on the Republican ticket as a registered Democrat. He handily beat incumbent Jim Crumlish, and subsequently changed his registration to Republican. Although a supporter of capital punishment, as prosecutor he questioned the fairness of the Pennsylvania death penalty statute in 1972.[11]

In 1967, he was the Republican Party standard bearer together with City Controller candidate, Tom Gola, in the mayoral campaign against the Democratic incumbent James H. J. Tate. One of their slogans was, "We need THESE guys to watch THOSE guys."[12] He served two terms as District Attorney for the City of Philadelphia.

How has he not been used as a lab rat or something. Why would EITHER party trust him??? So now his pearls of wisdom are front page news. Today he thinks Norm Coleman should be seated. That would be cool if Coleman was a Democrat or Arlen was a Republican. Or if Coleman had won, or if Democrats had put Spector in office. I can't say that I'm totally comforted by Al Franken in the Senate, but he's a Democrat and I think there's a crazy pandemic that is hitting only the Republicans. So we'll take him.
Meanwhile, here's a Q&A between the NY Times and Specter:
In an interview with the New York Times Magazine, the newly minted Democrat said he thinks Republican Norm Coleman should win his Senate recount court battle against Al Franken in Minnesota.

"There's still time for the Minnesota courts to do justice and declare Norm Coleman the winner," Specter said, when asked how he felt about the lack of Jewish Republicans in the Senate.

Q: With your departure from the Republican Party, there are no more Jewish Republicans in the Senate. Do you care about that?

A: I sure do. There's still time for the Minnesota courts to do justice and declare Norm Coleman the winner.

Q: Which seems about as likely at this point as Jerry Seinfeld's joining the Senate.

A: Well, it was about as likely as my becoming a Democrat.

Oh boy... Another comedian...

I don't even need to write this stuff anymore.. I can't even keep up.

Nor can I comprehend it.
Click:
Stupid Republican Tricks

Also, in a day of completely crazy quotes:

Specter: "I Did Not Say I Would Be A Loyal Democrat"

Did we think he planned on being a loyal Democrat? I mean he completely betrayed the Republican party and every person who ever voted for him. I'm not sure he wouldn't sell out America, in general. A traitor is a traitor, party obviously doesn't matter.

Sen. Richard Shelby: "Well, I'm not a payback type of guy. I think you have to keep moving. On the other hand, a lot of us were aware of then Senator Obama's votes against Alito and I believe against Roberts. But I think Obama has -- President Obama has got some strong cards to deal. I hope he makes a great choice for the court."
Yes, Shelby, PRESIDENT Obama. Try to hide your disdain. And no you don't hope he makes a great choice. I get the feeling you are with Rush Limbaugh and so many of his loyal subjects. You want our President to fail. None of you seem to comprehend that you are wishing for the failure of the USA.

Again, does everyone even KNOW what the definition of terrorism IS???

ter⋅ror⋅ism
/ˈtɛrəˌrɪzəm/ Show Spelled Pronunciation [ter-uh-riz-uhm] Show IPA
–noun
1. the use of violence and threats to intimidate or coerce, esp. for political purposes.
2. the state of fear and submission produced by terrorism or terrorization.
3. a terroristic method of governing or of resisting a government.

My last candle of Republican hope has burned out...

I figured if McCain wasn't too ancient to make another desperate grasp for Supreme Commander and Avenger of Imagined Injustices, then neither was Orrin Hatch. He looks crotchety but he's always seemed to make sense to me. Apparently he's been eating the wacky brownies at GOP Cloak and Dagger meetings as well.

Sen. Orrin Hatch of Utah says Obama's comment last week about naming a justice who understands Americans' problems and has empathy for people is "code" for putting in place a person who legislates from the bench.

Hatch says he realizes the president will choose a more liberal person for the opening created by Justice David Souter's retirement. Hatch, a top Republican on the Senate Judiciary Committee, says he expects the nominee to favor abortion rights.

Hatch spoke Sunday on ABC's "This Week."

Code??? Empathy is a code word?? I hear it all the time at church, Orrin, and it means "Do unto others as you would have them, do unto you." I'm pretty sure God figured you'd all be smart enough that he didn't need to make a commandment that said "Thou shalt not waterboard."
WROOOOOOONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now, Orrin after church today, how about we look in the scriptures to see what the code word is for making up lies to sell a war and torture God's children. I suggest you start with "Bear False Witness". You don't let Atheists in to your little club, do you Orrin? They don't know how to interpret God's words and the Constitution to allow you to get political revenge and commit murder.

Oh and verbal diarrhea on Sunday morning talk shows does not equal Church. Come to MY Sunday School class Orrin, I double dog dare you.

Friday, May 1, 2009

David Vitter Blocks Obama's FEMA Nominee

SHOCKER!!!!

'Now if we could find some Repugs that just say "no" to torture.'

So waterboarding makes terrorists talk.. What can they do to make GOP domestic terrorists shut the freak up???

Some days are just odd.

My daughter has been planning to go swimming with friends tonight. I was supposed to drop her off at her bestie's house and then another girl's parents were going to pick the two of them up. Her friend wasn't home so I had to take her to the other girl's house. She was surprised that I knew what her address was. I know because it's the same number as mine. We get their junk mail.
Also, I was driving really slow because it's a turny road through the subdivision. Fortunately I WAS going slow, there was a duck in the middle of the road, asleep, on one foot. How weird is that? I didn't even wake it as I made my way around it.
