Update to Trump Era Newcomers
Until I understand this EU Cookie law better I will leave Google's complimentary notice that this blog uses Blogger and Google cookies. These include Google Analytics and AdSense cookies.
Also, I feel that I should warn that this blog was started in the style of and in response to the toxic commentary of Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh. I don't mince words and the people who cannot see common sense in my words or are deliberately uninformed may not like the way I express myself. I moderate comments because I have had stalkers that posted filth in response to my religion. I'm not afraid to post conflicting opinion comments but I filter threats and inappropriate language comments.
This comes in response to the Trump Era. May it be shorter than 4 years. =)

Byodo-in Temple
So today I got to do something that I wanted to do soooo bad. Last time I was here my husband was terrified of getting lost so he wouldn't go to the Byodo-in Temple. I have this crazy fascination with all things Japanese. It's hard to explain but there are certain movies I love that are set in Japan and it's so beautiful but beneath the surface there is such ugliness. I guess that happens everywhere but this is different for me. I'm glad now that we saw it on THIS trip and not the last because it meant more. The pictures I saw of it didn't even come close to the actual beauty and neither did the ones we took. And the feeling is indescribable, the reverence. Anyway here are a few pictures, but we took a million. Also just in case you didn't know or didn't remember, I don't post pictures of my kids online. There are pictures of the whole family, but I don't want their info online at all.

The US doesn't make war on Shinto. My family was stationed in Nippon from 60-62. Iwakuni, where they flew the U2's and where Oswald had been stationed in 58-59. I well remember a beautiful postage stamp of a country where everything smelled very, very fishy except in the Spring when it all smelled like cherry blossoms and fish. I remember went to Nagasaki once and prayed for peace and deliverance from the nuclear terror.
Flowers float by the USS Arizona, by the hundreds, as Japanese people seem to need to make peace..
